Who is not excited about the college days! The disruptions from the global pandemic have brought about a new normal in more ways than one. Online learning is most definitely one of them and although it comes with its concerns and challenges, it could be something we see more often in the near future. Even though it was at my comfort place, I would have been more excited to attend an offline college than this one as it is, in my view, much more productive than online learning. Although my teachers were very cooperative and helpful throughout the course, due to which even the online classes became more and more interactive and productive.
Naturally, new experiences come with their challenges and adjustments. The biggest challenge for me was to maintain the same level of discipline in my studies even though I was at home. It’s easy to get distracted when one is stuck at home with the whole family. Second, the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 epidemic has been another challenge in itself. There have been times when my morale and motivation have been low. This is mainly due to the devastating implications and effects that the virus has had on thousands of people.
One can make the most out of online learning by-
Creating a dedicated study space and removing any distractions from the space, and if possible, making it separate from the bed or sofa
Actively taking notes throughout the lecture so that one stays focused
Approaching each lecture as if physically attending it
Focusing on one task at a time will help to absorb more information furthermore increasing productivity
Building a study plan and revising what's being taught will help in understanding the next lectures better
Overall, my experience with online learning has been as positive as it could be. The support from the university has allowed it to be as smooth as possible with students being kept up to date at every stage. Soon, online learning could be a key part of university learning and the past few months have proved that it can be successful for many students and institutions.
